The dataset contains 29 zip files. Each zip file contains a flight folder with mobile-phone pictures and videos taken from the NRC Convair-580 cabin in-flight and on the ground during each of the flight days of the ICICLE flight campaign in Rockford, IL. USA January-March 2019 (for more details about the campaign see https://doi.org/10.21949/1524472 , for the corresponding datasets see https://www.eol.ucar.edu/field_projects/icicle). The images and videos from 29 flights (excluding flight #10) depict the surrounding environmental conditions, clouds, instruments, and ice accretion on the aircraft in appendix C and O conditions.
Time stamps in the filenames were not synchronized to Zulu time or to the data-acquisition-system time onboard the aircraft and were not time corrected. The timestamps could switch hours when the aircraft passed different time zones, every time it crossed Lake Michigan. In most cases the filename represents local time.
The pictures and videos are provided for contextual information only. Any usage of the files should include a reference to the source with DOI.
